New class offering

It's still cold, so thinking of salsa dancing makes me feel warm. Until I go off to my son's hockey game tonight, that is!

I'm really looking forward to teaching this new class. There are still spaces left, so contact me if you want to take the class. Comments are always welcome too!

New doll pattern ready!

Here's Tilly! No longer silly.
I dressed her in 1812 style, to test out my online class once more.
I've had some great comments from those who have taken the class.
Tilly as a doll pattern has been sent off to Cyndy Sieving at AFIC. Cyndy is preparing a booklet of designer's patterns for those attending this event. I'm honoured to be included in this collection.
Once I get my new website ready, I'll be offering Tilly as a free pattern.
My next project with Tilly is to dress her in modern clothing or maybe convert her to boy figure. The pattern works either way! It's a juvenile figure, do can easily be a 10-12 year old boy or girl.
My Edwina Dolls web site is still up and running, so orders will not be delayed in any way by the re-do of the site. I'm pretty excited with what my designer has come up with. Louise Ingram
also creates fabulous glass beads, under her Fireseed name.

1812 class winners!

And the winner is...! I've always wanted to say that. It was such fun, reading through all the comments again. I wrote all the names down and put them into a hat, then drew 3 winners. It took a while before I could announce them all, because I wanted to be sure I had permission to use the winner's names.

A free online class, Costuming an 1812 figure, goes to:

* Mary Ann Tate
* Shashi Nayagam
* Linda Hinkey

Thanks everyone, for your support. Now, on with the blog...

I just listed a couple of my felt bags on my Etsy store.

Felt bags are great conversation pieces. Wear one out one evening and you'll see what I mean!

This bag is felted by hand with a rainbow of orange - peach, blue tones in Australian merino fiber. It measures 6" high by 5" wide at the top. The handle is also wet felted merino.

I really enjoy embellishing felt. Sparkles are incorporated into the felt, then I added beads and mohair locks. The flowers are made from dyed silk cocoons.

Blog giveaway

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who commented on my blog. It was great to hear from Connie, Judy and so many of you. I am making so many new friends with my blog and new facebook page; it's just amazing!

The winners of the 1812 costuming class have been drawn from the hat. The hat is my admiral's hat, complete with feathers, which I wear when I chair meetings. Shahsi Nagayam, a friend from Doll Street was the first name out of the hat. I am just waiting to hear back from the others before publishing their names and awarding their prizes. If I can't contact them, I'll draw a new name next week.

Thanks again! I'll be posting the other two names soon!!

Have a great Superbowl weekend!
